The LGG

In 2018, the first LGG fundraiser started. The concept is to Lose weight, Gain muscle, Give back to Winnipeg Harvest. Why not eat less food you don’t need, and give food to others who need it.

The hope is while someone is trying to improve their fitness and eat healthy, it also helps them stay motivated as a part of a bigger picture to give back to those less fortunate.

In 2018 and 2019 we collected over $2200 of food and cash donations.

Normally we include more prizes for fitness challenges but due to COVID-19, we are not able to do the testing, and so for this year we will be focusing our effort on simply raising funds for Winnipeg Harvest.

Contest Rules 2020

  • Registration is $50; the $25 will serve as a donation to Winnipeg Harvest while the other $25 is added to the Top Cash Prize

    2 Prizes will be selected depending on who performs the best average of both;

    • Body Composition

      • Determined by: Skin-fold assessment, Waist/Hip/Neck/Height, and Weight. These numbers go together to estimate a body fat to lean muscle tissue ratio.

    • Donations

      • Collected through the website set up by Winnipeg Harvest, your supporters can simply donate on the website link below, and state in the comments they sponsor your team (i.e. I sponsor Team Jonny Q).

      • Note: The donators that support the contest winners will be able to collect a charitable tax receipt for a donation of $20 or more!

        • Top Prize: Cash pot

          • Dependent on how many participants —i.e: 6 people = $150

          • More people registered, the better the prize! Tell your friends and family to join in.

      • This seminar will be focused on the problems and psychological side of what makes nutrition so difficult. Also how to meal prep to ease the confusion on how to set up a good diet plan.

      • This is open to anyone registered or if someone would like to join but not participate can do so with a donation to Winnipeg Harvest for a minimum of just $10

Why we do the LGG

Everyone has a hard time motivating themselves for weight loss. This creates an unselfish desire to dedicate your goal towards health and doing something for others. Using the fund-raising as a way to hold your self accountable to the goal, and also making a different makes a more powerful motivation.

This fits with TTF

Because we are all about people coming together for a common goal
